Metuchen’s Vannelli captures MGA Senior Amateur tourney
Metuchen’s Ron Vannelli captured the MGA (Metropolitan Golf Association) SeniorAmateur Championship in a sudden-death playoff. Vannelli defeated Tom Trakoval of Port Jefferson, N.Y., on the very first playoff hole with a par 4 to win the 85th edition of the event. This year’s championship was held at Metedeconck National Golf Club in Jackson Township on May 7 and 8. read more

Jackson pro Ron Beurmann, who played his college golf at WMU, tees it up at Senior PGA Championship

The lowest round of golf ever recorded was shot by an Oklahoma transplant from Australia. Rhein Gibson, a former NAIA All-American at Oklahoma Christian, shot a 55 at River Oaks Golf Club two weeks ago. It's the Guinness World Record.
